Green Tea Cardigan
The Green Tea Cardigan was inspired by my morning cup of green tea. Designed with simple construction, it’s perfect for everyday casual wear in stockinette stitch. Both the body and sleeve lengths are fully customizable to your desired length, but keep in mind that you may need more or less yarn than listed in the pattern, depending on your adjustments.
The Cardigan is worked flat from top down with raglan increases on a circular needle. The cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch. You will start by casting on for the full width of neck then work the upper body with raglan Increases until you reach the depth of the armhole. Sleeve raglan increases and body raglan increases are worked at different increase rates (compounded) to ensure a better fit around the bust and upper arm circumference. After reaching the armhole depth, you will separate both sleeves from the body by putting sleeve stitches on hold. Then, you will knit the body, hem and bind off for the body.
Next, you will transfer the sleeve stitches to the needle from the stitch holder then pick up and knit stitches, starting from half of the under arm cast-on and knit sleeve stitches around the armhole and pick up and knit other half stitches from the under arm cast-on and knit in a round until required length. Just before the cuff you will rapidly decrease the stitches in 2 rounds for the cuff before knitting the cuff and binding off. The front rib button bands are worked by picking up stitches along the front edges of the cardigan and formed the buttonholes at the same time.
Lastly you will pick up the stitches for the neckband along the neck cast-on edge and knit in 1 x 1 ribbing before binding off.
The raglan increases for both the body and sleeves are charted in tables for each size, making the process hassle-free. Simply print the page corresponding to your size only.

Size guide:
The Green Tea Cardigan is designed to have 15 cm [ 6 inches ] of traditional positive ease across
all sizes meaning it is designed to be 15 cm [ 6 inches ] larger in circumference than your bust
measurement.
The sizes, XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of
71-76 (81-86) 91.5-96.5 (101.5-106.5) 115.5-117 (122-127) 132-137 (142-147) 152-158 cm
[ 28-30 (32-34) 36-38 (40-42) 44-46 (48-50) 52-54 (56- 58) 60-62 inches ].
The schematic and finished measurements for the cardigan can be found on page 15 of the pattern.
Measure yourself before beginning your project, to determine which size will fit you the best.
For example, if you measure 86 cm [ 33.75 inches ] around your bust (or around the widest part of
your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S cardigan has a bust circumference of 98.5
cm [ 39.25 inches ] which in the given example would give you 15 cm [ 6 inches ] of positive ease.
(Sample was knitted in size S, the model has a bust circumference of 86 cm [ 34 inches ]).
Begin by knitting a swatch before you start your project, to determine which size needle and yarn
you need to achieve the correct gauge.
Note: Size XS (4XL) 5XL have not been tested yet, if you are interested in knitting one of these sizes,
feel free to contact me, and I will send you the pattern for free in exchange for your feedback on the pattern.
